Well, graduation is already upon us and Father's Day, June 20th, is imminently closing in (especially for us procrastinators) so I came up with a little keepsake craft for both. I used
Clips frames from Ikea (so glad I found these - I spent sooooo much more for the same thing at a famous craft store...lesson learned!) a nice, heavy card stock, free typewriter graphics from the
Graphics Fairy, a paper cutter and some man-spirational poetry by
Edgar Guest and
Rudyard Kipling.
It's a simple project, really: the most difficult part was figuring out how to put the frame together. I used an old typewriter font and once I had the layout I liked, it was a simple print, cut and frame job. I used a pair of scissors to rough up the edge of the printed card stock to give it the look of a page pulled from a book. I think these would make a
great present to a new, first-time dad as a set. Or give
